Configuring Settings on Epson TM-H6000 USB Printers that Directly Connect to Workstations Using EZTeller Enterprise

On Epson TM-H6000 printers, if the printer's interface is not configured correctly the Epson utility that assigns a comport ID to the USB printer cannot find the printer.

EZTeller users can use an Epson utility that assigns a comport to a USB printer or they can install drivers and add the Epson TM-H6000 printers in Windows.

 

 

 

 

 

 
 


Environment:

Epson USB printers: TM-H6000ii, iii, iv

Workaround:

Steps to verify/edit printer settings:

  1. Unplug the USB cable so printer has power but is not connected to the PC.
  2. Do a self-test on the printer.
  • Power off printer.
  • Hold down the Feed button while powering up the printer and a self-test will print.
  1. Release the Feed button and you will have a flashing Paper light.
  2. Hold down the Feed button and Mode Selections will print. 
  3. You want the third choice on the list.
  4. Quickly press and release the Feed button three times.
  5. Hold down the Feed button and Customized Value settings will print.
  6. You want the Interface selection, seventh on the list.
  7. Quickly press and release the Feed button seven times.
  8. Press and hold the Feed button and Interface Types will print.
  9. You want the second choice on the list, Built in USB.
  10. Quickly press and release the Feed button two times.
  11. Press and hold the Feed button.
  12. The printout should state that the Built in USB interface has been saved.
  13. Turn printer off and back on to refresh settings. 
  14. Plug the USB cable into the PC and continue configuring the printer on the PC and software.
