Configuring USB Model Validation Printers in EZTeller Enterprise.
EZTeller Enterprise supports USB model printers in release 5.1 and newer.
- USB printers can be installed as a Windows printer with the appropriate printer drivers. This allows multiple programs to use the printer. These printers are configured in Superview by selecting the USB Device Type.
- Epson USB validation printers can be assigned a COM port by using a utility you download from the Epson Expert web site. These printers are configured in Superview by selecting Serial/Parallel Device Type. As with all serial port printers, the printer attaches to the program that is opened first.
Configuring a USB printer as a Windows printer:
- Download and install the printer drivers as instructed by the manufacturer.
- Go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes > Add Printer.
- Use the Wizard and select option: Local printer attached to this computer. Click Next.
- Select Use the following port and pick the local port. Click Next.
- Select the Manufacturer and Printer. Click Next.
- Name the printer. Click Next.
- Select Do not share. Click Next.
- Do not print the test page. Click Finish.
- Open Superview and go to Profile Options > Workstations > General.
- Highlight the Workstation ID from the list and select the Validation Printing tab.
- Under Device Type, select "USB" and click Browse to locate the printer. Click Apply and OK.
- To test the printer in Superview, go to Branch > Totals, and click Print.
Configuring an Epson USB printer with an assigned COM port:
- Download the TMCOMUSB Serial Emulation Driver from the Epson Expert web site and install per Epson's instructions.
- Attach the printer cable to a USB port.
- Run the Epson program from EpsCA.exe; it will detect the printer.
- Highlight the printer and Assign COM Port, click Exit.
- Open Superview and go to Profile Options > Workstations > General.
- Highlight the Workstation ID from the list and select the Validation Printing tab.
- Select the Device Type "Serial/Parallel" then select the correct printer type.
