Creating the Servicing Director Event Log by Date Report

Creating the Servicing Director Event Log by Date Report

The Servicing Director Event Manager application Event Log by Date report shows a record for every event that has run, whether the event was run individually (by clicking Run) or as part of end-of-day events (by clicking Run All). You can use this report to confirm that an event ran and to check for error messages.

Important: This report gets very long. We highly recommend that you enter criteria when you run the report so that you limit the size of the report you get.

Note: If you will be sending the report to Customer Support, please save the report to file as a PDF format document.

You can run this report any time, but we recommend that you run it as the last event of the end-of-day events.

The Session ID column in this report indicates whether the event was run by clicking Run (Session ID of –1) or Run All (Session ID of 1 or greater). All the events with the same Session ID of 1 or greater are all the events from one Run All scheduled events session.

If an event fails, the event record will have a Return Code of 1, and this report will show the word Yes in the Event Failed column, followed by the error message for the failure in the Error Message column.

The report includes showing all the criteria of each event, listed as the Event Criteria and Instance Criteria as the last values showing in the report at the end of each event listing. These criteria values are shown in their database form, and are intended for advanced troubleshooting.

  1. Open the Event Manager application.
  2. View the Event Manager Available Events section of the Event Manager screen.
  3. Expand the System Administration category of available reports.
  4. Expand the Reports group.
  5. Click the Event Log by Date Rpt event, and drag it to the right to add it to the Scheduled Events section of the Event Manager screen.
  6. If the Criteria screen appears, specify the report criteria. You should enter criteria to limit the number of event records you want to see. For example, if you want to view all events starting with a certain date, then enter the StartTime criteria, the greater than operator >, and a date value of MMDDYYYY. For another example, if you wanted to see only events that failed during a Run All scheduled events, you can specify the criteria of Session ID > 0 and Return Code = 1 (failed).
  7. Use the Criteria screen to save the report as a PDF format file to send the report to Customer Support.
  8. Use the Criteria screen Preview button to preview the report.
  9. If you wish to schedule the report, specify a schedule. It is not required to schedule the report.
  10. If you did not specify any report criteria, click Criteria, and enter criteria to limit the number of event records you want to see.
  11. To run the report, select the report name from the Scheduled Instances list, and then click Run.

Note: To run a single event, such as this report only, click Run. Do not click Run All.
