Root Cause:
This message usually indicates a rare situation where your database has some unique data conditions or database content which is unexpected by the upgrade, leading your SQL server to raise some form of SQL error.Workaround:
The actual SQL error has to be determined, and from the error, further actions or a resolution can be determined.
The actual SQL error may be logged in the database installation log file created specifically for the database tasks during the installation.
Have your local IT or system administrator locate and review Servicing Director installation log files, particularly the DBInstall.log file for a new full version upgrade or the DBInstallUpdate.log for a service pack upgrade. For more information about the log files, review Finding the Servicing Director Installation Log File which can be selected from the Related Articles.
Note: Not all information in the DBInstall.log or DBInstallUpdate.log files represent a relevant error message. Also, error messages with longer text will be truncated in the log, so the log may not show the entire SQL command or error message. Have Servicing Director Support advise on the messages found in the log.
If the database installation fails again, submit a case through Case Management to contact support to upload your backup of the Servicing Director database for more research. Attach the installation logs and include your SQL server version when you submit your case through Case Management.
