Database installation stops responding after selecting install

The Fusion Servicing Director Database Installation stops responding after selecting Install or the Installation program MSIExec.exe is reported as not responding. In some cases, the Installation may appear to finish, but no databases are created; in other cases the Installation may report it was "Interrupted", and no databases are created. The SvcData folder is populated, and the Installation log shows it has just begun the "Invoking script function InstallDatabase". 

This can be caused by certain special characters in the SQL login password provided to the database installation by the installing person. Most standard keyboard special characters are permitted, but one character not permitted is the semicolon (;),

Workaround:

Change the password to still be a strong password, but one which does not use a semicolon (;) character. 

Submit a case through Case Management to increment Request for Change 00305831.
