E3 Build Import data event error : "Fatal error in XML input document : 'whitespace not allowed at this location'

E3 to Servicing Director import/export
You may receive this error when running the E3 Build Import Data Event :

''Fatal error in XML input document : 'whitespace not allowed at this location''

Cause :

An invalid (special) character has been detected in the E3 import file.
Data input may only be alphanumeric.
An invalid character, most likely an ampersand (&) in the file would generate this message.
The import interprets the special character differently.





 

Workaround:


Locate the invalid charater in the file and the related loan number and field it is found in.
In E3, make the change in the related loan/field, and remove or replace the special character (&).
Create the E3 export file again after making change.
