ERROR 3112: Records Can't be Read; No Read Permissions

You receive the error message: ERROR 3112: Records Can't be Read; No Read Permissions when trying to repair a .mdb file using the ezrepair.exe.

Workaround:

 

  1. Make note of the path and file in the error message.
  2. Select Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Data Sources (ODBC).
  •  If you have Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb) as an option under the Driver list, continue with Step 3.
  •  If you do not have Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb) as an option under the Driver list, click Add to add Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb) as a Data Source type. Continue with Step 3.
  1. On the ODBC Data Source Administrator screen, double-click on MS Access Database on the User DSN tab.
  2. On the ODBC Microsoft Access Setup screen, click Repair.
  3. On the Repair Database screen, locate the drive and directory of the file as listed in the error message.
  4. Select the file name in the left box and click OK.
  5. You should receive a message: "Database was successfully repaired."
  6. Close the Control Panel.
