Lists and Receipts Printed on Paper Tape Stop Before the Complete Data is Printed

The user is printing with an Epson 375, 675, or 6000 printer connected through a serial/USB converter. Receipts, totals, batches, and other lists are printing the first few lines of the header but then stop before the complete data is printed.

Workaround:

Change the dip-switch setting on the printer to increase the buffer capacity by following the steps below. This allows the printer to complete the print job.

  1. Turn off the printer and turn it over.
  2. Using a Phillips screwdriver, take off the small door.
  3. In Dip Switch Set One (marked DSW1 on the case) turn off the #2 dip switch.
  4. Leave the door off and turn the printer right-side up.
  5. Open the top and make sure the paper roll is in the correct position; then, close the top.
  6. Hold down the Paper Feed button while turning on the printer.
  7. This begins a self test. The Buffer Capacity should read 4096.
  8. If it reads 40, turn off the printer and verify that #2 is OFF and repeat the self test.

Change settings in Superview so that prompts stay on the screen. This setting is required with this printer configuration.

  1. Under Profile Options> Workstations> General, select the workstation that is having the problem.
  2. Go to the Validation Printer tab and click User Keyboard Pacing.
  3. Click Apply and click Save.

Have the teller exit EZTeller and restart from the desktop icon. The lists should now print completely. Note that the prompts now tell the user to print the ticket then press any key.

This extra keystroke is needed when on the serial/USB converters. These settings are often needed when the PC has aftermarket serial ports.
