Processing Transactions in EZTeller Enterprise While Database Disconnected
EZTeller has lost its connection to the database server, "Database Disconnected" shows in the status bar at the bottom of the screen.
- When EZTeller Enterprise loses its connection to the database server a message pops up notifying the teller the workstation is database disconnected. Do not move workstations or change EZTeller Roles.
- You can try to reestablish your connection to the database by going to Other, Connect Database. If your attempt to connect to the database is unsuccessful, continue to use the same EZTeller Role and do not move to another workstation.
- If you sign off from an EZTeller workstation that is connected to the database server because you are going to sign onto another workstation, the workstation you are signing onto MUST be connected to the database before you sign on. If the EZTeller workstation you are signing onto is "database disconnected," DO NOT sign onto it. The only person who should sign onto the database-disconnected workstation is the last person who used the workstation.
- If you start your day in "database disconnected" mode, make sure you log onto the same EZTeller workstation you used the day before and select the same EZTeller Role. Once the database connection has been restored and all your transactions have been updated to the database server, you are able to move to another workstation and/or change EZTeller Roles.
Note: When your workstation is disconnected from the database, all of your journal activity and cash totals are stored locally on that workstation. After the connection is restored, all information is updated to the database server. If your workstation does not have a database server connection at the time you sign on, EZTeller has no way to access your journal activity and cash totals from another workstation or from the database server. For that reason it is important to work at the same workstation on the same EZTeller Role until your database connection has been reestablished and all your transactions have been updated to the Database Server.
