Reinstalling Servicing Director is not often a solution to a problem, but if you should decide to reinstall Servicing Director, consider the following:

• You must uninstall Servicing Director to reinstall it. You must use the Windows programs list and uninstall Servicing Director first to then install Servicing Director again. If you do not uninstall Servicing Director first, the Microsoft Installer will present options to Repair or Modify the Servicing Director product, but these options are not supported and should not be used.

• Uninstalling the Servicing Director Database product does not remove any Servicing Director databases. The databases will not be changed by uninstalling Servicing Director. After completing the Servicing Director database installation, the changes to the databases are permanently made to your databases, and the changes cannot be reversed in the current copy of the databases. If you use the Windows programs list and uninstall the Servicing Director Database product, the Database product will be uninstalled, but the Servicing Director databases will remain online and intact as they were before the uninstall.
• Uninstalling the Servicing Director Database product does remove the SvcData folder installed files. After completing the Servicing Director database installation, if you use the Windows programs list and uninstall the Servicing Director Database product, the installed content of the SvcData folder will be removed, so be sure to have a backup copy of the contents as a precaution.
• The procedure below is for your system administrator or local IT, who is familiar with the Microsoft Windows procedures to uninstall a program.

1. Open the Windows Control Panel.

2. Click the Uninstall a program link under Programs.

3. Review the list of programs for Servicing Director products.  The Windows Programs list may have more than one entry for Servicing Director, depending on what you have installed on the computer. 

• On the Servicing Director server, the Windows Programs list will list the name "Servicing Director Database".  If present, a service pack update for the Database product will be listed as "Servicing Director Database Update". Optionally on the server, you may have the "Servicing Director Application" listed if someone chose to install the applications on the server. If there are any service pack updates, uninstall them first, starting with the most recent, highest version number service pack.  After all service packs are uninstalled, then uninstall the full version.
• On a Servicing Director desktop, the full version of the Servicing Director applications will be listed as "Servicing Director Application". If present, a service pack update will be listed as "Servicing Director Application Update".  If there are any service pack updates, uninstall them first, starting with the most recent, highest version number service pack.  After all service packs are uninstalled, then uninstall the full version.
• Double-click the listed item(s) you want to uninstall, and click Yes, if prompted to approve uninstalling the products.

4. Close the Windows Control Panel.

5. Delete any user created Servicing Director shortcuts which are still present after uninstalling the Servicing Director applications.

6. (Optional) On a Servicing Director desktop computer, delete the Servicing Director applications program folder, but possibly save the Updates folder. You may want to save the Updates subfolder (if present) of your Servicing Director applications programs folder, depending on if you plan to install the same version of the applications again.  Browse to the folder where the Servicing Director applications were installed. The default location of the Servicing Director applications program folder will be the following: C:\Program Files (x86)\D+H\Servicing Director

If there is an Updates subfolder, this folder usually is the default storage location for the Servicing Director installation files, the installation files you would use to install the applications.  If you want to install the applications again from this source, then save the Updates folder, but delete any other contents of the Servicing Director folder.  Alternately delete the Updates folder, and use another source for installing the applications, such as downloading the current version again. 

7. Reinstall the Servicing Director products you uninstalled above, using the Servicing Director Installation Guide provided for your version of Servicing Director.
