Root Cause:

This error is caused by a version mismatch, where the Servicing Director server database Service Pack version is different than the Servicing Director desktop applications Service Pack version.

The version difference for this error comes from having the Servicing Director 8.2 Service Packs on some but not all Servicing Director computers.

It is possible to log into the Servicing Director applications without the Servicing Director Service Packs installed on both the Servicing Director database and on every Servicing Director desktop.

Workaround:

To resolve the error, install the Servicing Director 8.2 Service Packs on the Servicing Director applications desktops.

There are two Servicing Director 8.2 Service Packs, Service Pack 1 and Service Pack 2, and for each Service Pack, there is both a database server part, and an application desktop part. Follow the instructions provided with Servicing Director 8.2 Service Packs to install the application desktop part of the Service Packs.

If only some Servicing Director applications desktops have this error, and other Servicing Director desktops do not have this error, then only those desktops with the error are missing the Service Packs.  If you are not sure if a desktop has the Service Packs installed, you can safely to install the Service Packs again.

Note:The Servicing Director 8.2 Service Packs do not change the desktop applications Help>About version information.

If all the Servicing Director applications desktop have this error after you have clearly installed the Service Packs on all the desktops, contact customer support and do not install Service Pack 2 on the database until after contacting support.  The database server part of Service Pack 1 and Service Pack 2 should only be applied once to a database after careful review.
