Runtime Error 53 File Not Found

During an update, you received the following error: Runtime Error 53 File Not Found


Root Cause:

During the update process the file names for EZTELLERENT.EXE OR EZSUPERENT.EXE changed to EZTELL~.EXE or EZSUP~.EXE.

Fusion EZTeller cannot read the shortened file name. Or the files EZCOMMENT.DLL and EZHOSTENT.DLL are missing from the \\EZTellerServer directory.
 

Workaround:

There are several different causes for this error message. A file name in the C:\EZTeller directory was changed during an update. Or the files EZCOMMENT.DLL and/or EZHOSTENT.DLL are missing from the \\EZTellerServer directory.

Check for files renamed during an update

  1. Browse to C:\EZTeller. 
  2. Look for files named "EZTELL~.EXE" or EZSUP~.EXE".
  3. If found, rename the file to "EZTELLERENT.EXE" (for EZTELL~.EXE) or "EZSUPERENT.EXE" (for EZSUP~.EXE).
  4. Restart Fusion EZTeller or Superview and sign on.

Check for files missing from the \\EZTellerServer directory

  1. Browse to \\EZTellerServer.
  2. Look for the files EZCOMMENT.DLL and EZHOSTENT.DLL.
  3. If they are missing, copy the files from C:\EZTeller and paste in the \\EZTellerServer directory.
  4. Restart Fusion EZTeller or Superview and sign on.
