Servicing Director (Databases) Installer Information

Error:
ERROR object
Description =
ErrNumber = -2147199502

Servicing Director (Databases) Setup has failed.  If the problem persists, please contact Product Support.

Root Cause:

There can be more than one cause for this error, but there are two common causes for this error.

One cause is the Microsoft SQL Server does not allow logging in using SQL login credentials.

Another cause is the Microsoft SQL Server has a restricted Windows service logon account for the Microsoft SQL server service, which prevents the Microsoft SQL Server from performing some Windows operations requested by the Servicing Director installation.

Workaround:

First, Save a copy of the Servicing Director (Databases) installation log file. This log file will have the file name INLQ_Install.log, and it will be located on the Windows server C:\ drive root folder or in the C:\SvcData root folder. The current file should have a Windows modified file date and that matches date and time of your most recent run of the installation program. Save a copy of the INLQ_Install.log by renaming it.

Second, using Microsoft SQL Server support information, have your local IT confirm the following:

  • The Microsoft SQL Server allows SQL authentication. The Servicing Director System Requirements show that SQL authentication is required for Servicing Director.
  • The SQL login you provided during the Servicing Director Database installation (the 'sa' login is preferred) is enabled, and has full database administrator access to the Servicing Director databases.
  • Confirm the Windows service logon account for your Microsoft SQL Server service uses a Windows account with elevated privileges, such as the Local System account or a suitable domain account (at least for the duration of the Servicing Director installation).  The Microsoft SQL Server service properties showing the logon account will be shown on the Windows Administrative Tools>Services Control Panel screen. If you change the logon account, be sure to restart the service.

Then, try the Servicing Director (Databases) installation program Setup.exe again.
