Servicing Director Archiver Retrieve Document Error: "Windows could not launch the associated viewing application ..."

Windows could not launch the associated viewing application of the archived file because: There is no application associated with the given file name extension. 


Root Cause:

This error is caused by the Windows settings on the computer retrieving the document. 

 

Workaround:

Have your local IT or administrator review the Windows settings that have to do with file associations and the default programs Windows uses to open certain file extensions. From the Retrieve Document screen, note the Parent Document file name, including specifically the file extension, and provide that for the review of the Windows settings for that file extension.
