Problem finding the DBInstallInterface.dll
Root Cause:
This can be an issue if Windows needs to be rebooted or required Windows updates need to be installed.
Workaround:
Do the following:
- Click OK to the error message, the installation will fail, and end.
- Reboot Windows.
If the error persists:
On a Windows 2012 R2 server, do the following: - Click OK to the error message, the installation will fail, and end.
- Uninstall the following Microsoft prerequisite installed by the Servicing Director installation: Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 (x86) - 14.0.23026
- Apply all required Windows Updates to the Windows computer. (specifically the March 2014 Update KB2919422 and the April 2014 Cumulative Update for Windows 2012 R2 KB2919355).
- Reboot the Windows computer as required by the Windows updates.
- Retry the installation.
On a Windows 2008 server without Service Pack 2, do the following: - Install Service Pack 2 for Windows 2008 server.
- Reboot the Windows computer as required by the Windows updates.
- Retry the installation.
