Servicing Director Event Manager Error: Printing Failed Could not Find Printer

Printing failed: Could not find printer <your printer name>

Archiving failed: Unknown error.


Root Cause:

Servicing Director relies on your Windows printing system to print documents.  The cause for this error is a failure in your Windows printing system outside of the Servicing Director product.

Workaround:

Review which printer name you have selected when printing the document to confirm it is a currently valid and online printer.

You may have another printer available, and you should try printing to the other printer as a test.

If you are running a scheduled Event Manager application Event with a printer selected, then do the following:

  1. Open the Event Manager application.
  2. Select the document event with the error from the list of scheduled events, and click Criteria.
  3. Review the printer selected on the Criteria screen.  If a named printer is selected, then select another printer or try the Windows default printer.  If the Windows default printer is already selected, then select another named printer instead.
  4. Retry running the individual document event.
  5. If the condition persists, try running the document event from another desktop.
