Root Cause:
On Servicing Director 8.2, the cause for this error is the desktop running Event Manager is missing the Servicing Director applications 8.2 Service Pack 1 update.
Workaround:
Apply the Servicing Director applications 8.2 Service Pack 1, and then apply or reapply the 8.2 Service Pack 2.
The Servicing Director 8.2 Service Packs are downloadable from the Support Center Solution page for Servicing Director.
You only need to apply the applications part of the Service Packs to the desktop, and not the server part of the Service Packs.
