Servicing Director Letters Screen Error When Using the 64 Bit Version of Word: "...unable to open the data source"
Word was unable to open the data source.
Root Cause:
This is an issue found on Servicing Director when using the 64 bit version of Word, and attempting to print multiple letters by having multiple loans selecting at the same time.
Servicing Director has 32 bit applications, and therefore the 32 bit version of Word is recommended to resolve this issue.
Workaround:
As an advanced workaround, your local IT can use Windows procedures to create an ODBC data source named Servicing specifically for 64 bit applications. To do this follow these steps:
- Use the ODBC Data Sources control panel for 64 bit applications (typically found in the path C:\Windows\System32\odbcad32.exe) and select the System DSN tab.
- Select the SQL Server Driver or if available, the SQL Native Client driver.
- Name the data source Servicing
- Select the following data source authentication method: With SQL Server authentication using a login ID and Password.
- Select the default database named Service.
Note:All other data sources settings are default. - Click OK to save the changes.
