Root Cause:

This article describes the resolution for the Error Code Description "No Response from COM Object - Verify VC 10 Installation".
Typically, this error message means the Servicing Director Link (SD Link) web service providing the UltraData interface to Servicing Director is missing the prerequisite of Visual Studio C++ 2010.

Workaround:

Working with your local IT, install the Visual Studio C++ 2010 prerequisite on your on-site web (IIS) server.
The SD Link installation guide describes it this way:

Complete the following items (refer to your Microsoft support resources for more information):

  1. Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555.
  2. Install Microsoft Installer 4.5 or later.
  3. Install or enable Microsoft .NET 4.0 or later on each web server.
  4. Enable Microsoft ASP.NET 4.0 or later.
  5. Enable Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) on each web server.
  6. Confirm Web Service Extensions ASP.NET v4.0.30319 are allowed.
  7. If UltraData is hosted in one of our data centers, confirm you have installed Security Certificate to enable SSL connections on the web server and the certificate is bound to the appropriate HTTPS port you want to use. Your server can use a self-signed certificate or a certificate issued by a trusted third party certificate authority. Confirm you have a static route set up from your web server to our data center for the interface communication.
  8. Locate IIS Manager to view and manage your websites. Refer to your Microsoft support resources for information about using IIS Manager.
