Special Accounts Monitor (SAM) Alerts for Savings Accounts are not Displaying When You Cash a Transit Check under Other Check > Savings Account.

Special Accounts Monitor (SAM) does not display an alert for a savings account when you cash a transit check under Checking > Other Check > Savings. The alert does display under savings deposits or withdrawals.

Workaround:

EZTeller uses the account types on the Main Menu to determine which SAM alerts to display.
When processing transactions under the Checking menu, EZTeller checks the SAM database for checking accounts with that number.
When processing transactions under the Savings menu, EZTeller checks the SAM database for savings accounts with that number.

In order for savings account alerts to display when processing Checking > Other Check > Savings, you will need to add the savings account number in SAM as both a checking and as a savings account.

  1. Open Superview, and from the main menu select SAM > Admin.
  2. From the Special Accounts Monitor > Administration screen, click the Add Account button.
  3. The Add New SAM Account screen appears.
  4. Complete the appropriate fields:
  • Account—The customer's bank account number. (Required)
  • Account Type—The type of account. (Required)
  • Customer Name—The name on the bank account.
  • Tax ID—The customer's tax ID number or SSN, if applicable.
  • Opened On—The date in mm/dd/yyyy format when the SAM account was created.
  • Account Officer—Name of the bank's account officer.
  • Officer Code—Code assigned to the bank's account officer.
  • Officer Phone #—Contact phone number for the bank's account officer.
  • Check Cashing Limit—The maximum amount for which a check can be cashed without further approval.
  • Immediate Credit Limit—Deposit limit assigned to the account by the bank's account officer. This is the deposit limit before a hold will be placed on the account.
  • NSF/Overdraft Limit—NSF or overdraft limit assigned to the account by the bank's account officer. The NSF/Overdraft limit is the maximum negative balance amount this account is allowed to have.
  1. When you are finished, click the Save button. The Account Alerts tab screen appears.
  2. To add another customer account, click the Add Account button and enter the new information. When you are finished, click the Save button.
  3. To return to the main menu, click Exit.
