Teller Is Unable to Connect to Printer

A teller using a workstation in the morning connected to the validation printer. When another teller logged into EZTeller on the same day in the afternoon, that teller was unable to connect to the printer.

Environment:

EZTeller with Windows Authentication.

Workaround:

Windows Authentication requires the teller to log off Windows so the user's instance of EZTeller closes. In this instance, the teller was still logged in and connected to the validation printer.

Option one:

  1. Before leaving the workstation, the teller would go to Start and log off of Windows.
  2. The second Teller signs onto PC and then logs into EZTeller. EZTeller will connect to validation printer.
  3. The second teller would follow the same procedure: exit EZTeller and log off Windows.
  4. Each teller would follow the above procedure to connect to the EZTeller validation printer.

Option two:

  1. Before leaving the workstation, the teller would go to the Other drop-down menu and unselect Printer.
  2. The teller then goes to Start > Switch User so other person can log onto the PC.
  3. Second teller signs onto the PC and logs into EZTeller and will automatically connect to the validation printer.
  4. Before original teller can log back onto the workstation the teller using it would exit EZTeller and log off Windows.
  5. Teller one then opens EZTeller, goes to Other menu and clicks on Printer.
