There is no setting within EZTeller or Superview to make validations print darker.
Environment:
EZTeller
Workaround:
A couple of suggestions are:
- Purchase black ribbons instead of blue ribbons and replace the ribbons regularly.
- Turn Caps Lock on at the workstations so that letters on money orders and cashier's checks print in upper case.
In Superview, there is a setting to change font size on validation titles:
- Go to Profile Options > Transactions and click on the Validation Printing tab.
- Clear Print Small Font to enable the larger font on validation titles.
For banks that use Epson TM-H6000 printers, there is a setting on the printer that changes the print density on receipts and lists. This setting does not affect validations, only the printing on the thermal receipt paper.
- Power off the printer and turn it upside down.
- Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the small cover on the bottom of the printer.
- In Dip Switch Set Two (DSW2) you can change the print density by turning switches 3 and 4 ON or OFF.
- 1-lightest density: 3 and 4 ON
- 2-Default: 3 and 4 OFF
- 3: 3 ON and 4 OFF
- 4-darkest density: 3 OFF and 4 ON
- Turn the printer right-side up. Make sure that the paper roll is on the sensor.
- With the printer powered off, hold down the Feed button while turning it on. A self-test prints. The Printer Density prints about four inches from the top of the self-test.
- Turn the printer off, and then back on again to clear the self-test.
- Once the settings have been finalized, replace the cover.
