You receive the following error message:
The file server path indicated is not available. This is where updated files are stored so EZID can copy them automatically. Please contact your system administrator. OK.

Root Cause: EZidServer folder was moved to new location and Win7 users are getting error. The server path in the ezid.ini file is incorrect.

Workaround:

  • By default, the ezid.ini file is located at the root of C:\Windows. Users must have rights to read that file.
  • If the workstation is Win7 with User Account Controls (UAC) enabled, then there is an additional ezid.ini file under the User's folder.

C:\Users\johndoe\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Windows\ezid.ini

  • Correct the server path in all copies of the ezid.ini file or disable UAC so EZid can read the file at the default location.
