Unable to Connect a Validation Printer on Workstation that Uses Epson Port Assignment Utility

The original Epson USB printer has been replaced and the new printer does not connect.

It is attached using the same cables and com port as the original printer of the same model.

Environment:

Epson USB printers: TM-H6000ii,iii,iv using Epson's port assignment tool

Workaround:

Delete the assigned port and then reassign it to new validation printer:

  1. In Windows Explorer, browse to C:\Program Files or Program Files (x86)\Epson\TMCOMUSB.
  2. Double-click on EpsonPA.exe to run Epson port assignment utility.
  3. Highlight the assigned port (for example, 3) and click on Delete Port.
  4.   Highlight the same port (3) and click on Assign.

Note: Use the same port number so that settings will not need to be changed in Superview.

  1. Select the new printer from the list on the popup screen and click on OK.
  2. The new printer is now listed on port 3, click on Exit.
  3. Have a teller log into EZTeller to test the printer connection.
