Uninstalling the Servicing Director UltraData Enterprise Payment Posting Interface (SD Connect)

Uninstalling the Servicing Director UltraData Enterprise Payment Posting Interface (SD Connect)

If you have the Servicing Director UltraData Enterprise Payment Posting Interface (SD Connect) installed, and no longer will be using it or you have the replacement SD Link product installed, then use the procedure below to remove the SD Connect product and files.
  1. Log into the Windows server hosting the SD Connect product as a local Windows administrator.
  2. Use the Windows programs list control panel to uninstall the product named: Servicing Director Connect. Approve any prompts to stop services to allow the uninstall to complete. If you have SD Connect installed on Windows 2012 and you encounter a persistent Window Installer error 1720 trying to uninstall SD Connect, then contact Finastra support using Case Management on the Customer Center website.
  3. Confirm if there is a local folder named SvcData. If so, confirm the folder is not a shared folder set as the \SvcData folder for your Servicing Director applications, and it is only a folder placed on this server to be used by SD Connect. For procedures to inspect your Servicing Director applications and determine which \SvcData folder they are using, search Knowledge Center with these key words: Servicing Director View SvcData. If the folder is present only for the SD Connect, then delete the folder.
  4. Confirm if the Servicing Director Link product is installed on the server by viewing the Windows programs list control panel. If you have already moved ahead and have chosen to install the SD Link on the same server which had the SD Connect, then SD Link will be using the Windows ODBC system data source named "Servicing" on the server. The Servicing Director desktop applications are expected to also be on the server for SD Connect to use, and are configured to use the same "Servicing" data source.

As part of uninstalling SD Connect, you would normally also uninstall the desktop applications, but doing so will also remove the Servicing data source, removing the data source needed by SD Link. In this case, before uninstalling the applications, use the Windows ODBC Data Sources 32-bit control panel to record the settings for the system data source named "Servicing," and use the recorded settings to add the data source back to the server after you uninstall the applications.
  • If SD Link is not installed on this server, there is no need to record information about the Servicing data source. Also, before uninstalling the desktop applications, confirm whether you are using the desktop applications for some user or automated process, such as an automated Event Manager application end of day process, where the desktop applications are not only on the server for use by SD Connect.
  • If you confirm the desktop applications are only for SD Connect, then when you are ready to uninstall the desktop applications, use the Windows programs list control panel to uninstall the product named: Servicing Director Application. After uninstalling the desktop applications, if you need to add the Servicing data source using the Windows ODBC Data Sources 32-bit control panel.

For more information about how to add the Servicing data source, search Knowledge Center using the key words: Servicing Director Creating ODBC Data Sources.
  1. Using Windows explorer, browse to the program files for the SD Connect product and delete any remaining folders and files. By default, the SD Connect program files will be in this folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Harland Financial Solutions\Connect.  Delete the entire folder named Connect.  If the only contents of the Harland Financial Solutions folder is the Connect folder, you can also delete the Harland Financial Solutions folder.
  2. Have your database administrator delete the database named "Connect" located on the SQL Server where you installed SD Connect, including any Connect database backups, if any were created.
  3. Have your database administrator delete the SQL server login named ConnectUser.
  4. The removal of SD Connect is completed.
