Validation Printer Only Prints a Few Lines on Lists and stops printing.

On a new PC using a serial to USB adapter for the Epson serial printer models; TM-U375, TM-U675 or TM-H6000, the printer is only printing the beginning of the lists when printing Teller Recap, Totals, Batches or Receipts.  You may also see this problem when the PC has specific aftermarket com ports.

To correct the printing problem, increase the buffer capacity on the printer. When using the larger buffer capacity the validation prompt doesn't stay on the EZTeller screen. To prevent the validation prompt from flashing by on the EZTeller screen you will need to turn on User Keyboard Pacing which requires the teller to press any key to continue.

Workaround:

To Change a setting on the Epson printer models; TM-U375, TM-U675 or TM-H6000:

  1. Power off the printer and turn it upside down.
  2. Use a Phillips head screwdriver; remove the small rectangular plate on the bottom of the printer.
  3. Turn off the number 2 dip switch under the DSW1 set of dip switches.
  4. Turn the printer right-side up.  If the Journal Out light is on, adjust the paper roll so it sits on the the sensor.
  5. With the printer still powered off, hold down the Paper Feed button and turn the printer on.
  6. A self-test will print. The Buffer Capacity should read 4096.
  7. Turn the printer off and back on to clear the self-test.
  8. Once the setting is correct, replace the plate on the bottom of the printer.

Editing the workstation setting:

  1. In Superview go to Profile Options > Workstations > General  and select the workstation from the list.
  2. Select the Validation Printing tab.
  3. Check the User Keyboard Pacing box, click Apply and OK.

Note: The tellers will receive a validation prompt that says; validate the <ticket name> then press any key to continue.
