Validation Printer Prints Gibberish

Gibberish prints when a teller prints receipts or totals on the teller tape if the baud rate on the printer does not match the settings for EZTeller.

Workaround:

Steps to determine the baud rate on the printer:

  1. Power off the validation printer.
  2. Hold your finger on the Paper Feed button and press the power button on the printer.
  3. A self-test will print.
  4. Make note of the baud rate.
  5. Turn the printer off then back on to clear the self-test.
     

Steps to modifying the baud rate for EZTeller32 banks:

  1. Open Windows Explorer and browse to C:\Windows\ezteller.ini.
  2. Scroll down to the [Printer] section.
  3. Edit the Baud Rate= line to match the baud rate of the printer.
  4. Click on File then Save. 
  5. Restart EZTeller32.

 

Steps to modifying the baud rate for EZTeller Enterprise banks:

  1. On the PC experiencing the problem, log onto Superview.
  2. Make note of the Workstation ID.

Note: Workstation ID is at the bottom of the screen between Database Connected and the calendar date.

  1. Select; Profile Options > Workstations > General.
  2. Highlight the workstation number and click on the Validation Printing tab.
  3. Change the Baud Rate field to match the baud rate on the printer.
  4. Restart EZTeller.
