Validation prompts for EZTeller are not staying on the screen

Epson 375 printer connected to serial port. User connects to the printer and can print items but the screen prompts are not staying on the screen long enough to be read.


Workaround:

Change the dip switch setting on the printer so that prompts stay on the screen.

  1. The user does not need to exit EZTeller.
  2. Turn off the printer and turn it over.
  3. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, take off the small door.
  4. In Dip switch Set One (the set of switches closest to the cables) turn on the #2 switch.
  5. Leave the door off and turn the printer right-side up.
  6. Open the top and make sure the paper roll is in correct position, close the top.
  7. Hold down the Paper Feed button while turning on the printer.
  8. A self test will start.
  9. The Buffer Capacity should be 40.  If it reads 4096, turn off the printer and verify that #2 is on.
  10. Do a test transaction, the prompt indicating which ticket to validate should now stay on the screen.
  11. Replace the door on the bottom of the printer.
