Changing the Servicing Director Customer Self-Service To Use a Different Microsoft SQL Server

The Servicing Director Customer Self-Service web page add-on product connects to the Servicing Director SQL server by the following:

  • A Windows ODBC Data Source configured with the Microsoft SQL Server driver to connect to the Servicing Director SQL server.
  • A Customer Self-Service connection string. 

To use a different SQL server, use the procedure below. 

 


Reset your SQL logins:

Reset your Servicing Director SQL logins, using the LSCNFG server application, adding on executing the W_FixRights SQL command. For more information about resetting your Servicing Director SQL logins, search Knowledge Center with the key words Resetting the Servicing Director SQL Server Logins.

To change the ODBC data source: 

  1. On a Windows 32-bit computer, go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Data Sources (ODBC).

    On a Windows 64-bit computer, run C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe.
  1. Click the System DSN tab.
  2. Click Data Source name "Servicing" to highlight it. 
  3. Click the Configure button. 
  4. Change the Server field on the DSN Configuration screen.
    You can enter the correct Microsoft SQL Server name (or Microsoft SQL Server Named Instance in the format ServerName\InstanceName), or you can select it from the list of servers on the list. Make no other selections or changes.
  5. Click Finish.

To change the Customer Self-Service connection string: 

  1. On the web application server, click Start > Programs > D+H > CSSWebAdmin > CSSWebAdmin.
    The CSSWeb Connection Editor screen appears.
  2.  In the Server field, enter your Servicing Director Database SQL server, or SQL server instance name.
  3. Verify the Database field is set to Service.
    Important! Do not change the Database field.
  4. Verify that the Username field is set to ILSWebUser.
    Important! Do not change the Username field.
  5. In the Password field, enter the default ILSWebUser password (shown in your Customer Self-Service Installation or Upgrade guide), or enter your custom password if you changed the ILSWebUser login password after you installed Customer Self-Service.
  6. Click Save.
  7. A message reminds you to restart IIS.
  8. Click OK, and then reset IIS.

Note: The new SQL server must have granted access to Customer Self-Service connections by executing the Service..W_Fixrights and SvcEventMgr..W_Fixrights SQL stored procedures once on the new SQL server.
