Creating an Archive Folder
The System Administration application Table Setup Archive Options screen allows you to designate network shared folders as storage locations to create an archive folder.
The best practice is to create new archive folders periodically, sending new archive copies to a new folder location. Periodically having new folders breaks up the files into smaller sets by date, making them easier to manage. For example, you might create a new folder on the first of every year, breaking your archived documents into sets by year.
- Create a new network shared folder using procedures applicable to your network.
- Grant your Windows network users of the Servicing Director applications a minimum of read and write permission or access to the new network shared folder.
- Open the System Administration application Table Setup Archiver Options screen.
- Click the Fixed Hard Drive button.
- Click the New Folder button.
- Click the Browse button, and browse to the new network shared folder.
- Click on the network shared folder to select the folder, and click OK.
- Click the OK on the New Folder screen, and the list of hard drive folders should now include the new network shared folder.
- Click Close, and return to the Archiver Options screen.
- Click the Active Folder list, and select the new network shared folder.
- The new network shared folder will now be the active archive folder.
Note: Newly created archived documents will immediately be stored in this new network shared folder. All previously archived documents will still be stored in their original network folder location, and will continue to be retrieved from their original network folder location.
