The three Servicing Director Transaction Dates:
There are three Servicing Director transaction dates viewed by opening the System Administration application>Table Setup>Company>Transactions tab>Transaction Posting Dates section.
The current transaction posting Date is the default date for new transactions. This is the key date for your current business day. You can change this date only by running the Change Posting Date update from Event Manager.
The prior transaction posting date is the transaction date for prior business day. Most end of day events in Event Manager are based on this date. This date is updated automatically when you run the Change Posting Update event in Event Manager.
The last transaction posting date is the transaction date for the date before the prior business day. This date is updated automatically when you run the Change Posting Update event in Event Manager.
How the Transaction Dates change:
The Change Posting Date update changes these transaction posting dates as follows:
The last transaction posting date is updated with the prior transaction posting date value.
The prior transaction posting date is updated with the current transaction posting date value.
The current transaction posting date is updated with the value entered, typically the next business day based on the Event Manager calendar.
How the Transaction Dates are used:
Most end of day events are based on the prior transaction posting date in that most events assume that the posting date just changed, and produce results using the prior transaction date.
For example, if you run the event on January 15th, the current transaction posting date becomes January 16th and the prior posting date becomes January 15th. In this example, many events, especially the reports, will produce results from January 15th.
You do not necessarily have to change the current transaction posting date to change the prior transaction posting date. For example, some reports can produce correct results for older dates just by changing the prior transaction posting date. you can manually change this date on the System Administration application>Table Setup>Company>Transactions tab>Transaction Posting Dates section. You can manually change this date on the System Administration application>Table Setup>Company>Transactions tab>Transaction Posting Dates section.
If you change the prior transaction posting date, you must return it to its previous value as soon as possible. If you do not change the prior transaction posting date back, the changed value will cause problems when the Event Manager end of day events are run.
