Moving Servicing Director to a new system Quick Reference

Moving Servicing Director to a new system Quick Reference

Use the quick reference list below to move or migrate your Servicing Director server to a new server.

As a quick reference, the following information is not a step by step guide, and it assumes your local IT or system administrator already has knowledge of the  required Microsoft Windows and SQL server procedures, and full information about your configuration of Servicing Director.

The quick reference list:
  1. Review the current Servicing Director System Requirements published in the knowledge base.
  2. Review Servicing Director SQL Server Required Configuration Settings.
  3. Prepare Microsoft Windows and SQL servers which meet the system requirements and required SQL server settings.
  4. Stop user activity by exiting all the applications.
  5. Stop all other connections to the databases (if any).
  6. Backup the databases (Service and SvcEventMgr).
  7. Take the databases offline.
  8. Restore the database backup to the new SQL server with the same names (Service and SvcEventMgr).
  9. Create a new SvcData folder on the new server, and share it. Grant Windows permissions to the new SvcData as needed.
  10. Copy all the contents of the old server SvcData folder to the new SvcData folder.
  11. Disable network sharing on the old SvcData folder.
  12. Copy all Archiver folders to the new server (if desired). Update the Service database FolderFixed table with the new \\Servername\Sharename location of each folder.
  13. Install or upgrade the Database product (required). If you have an upgrade available, you can upgrade at this point. Supply the new SvcData folder location to the installation.
  14. If you have the Customer-Self Service add-on product, install the Customer Self-Service Database product. Only the Database product is required.
  15. Reset the Servicing Director SQL logins and perform the FixRights option using the LSCNFG application. Enter your choice of new passwords, and the FixRights option is required.
  16. Reconfigure or upgrade the applications. If you have upgraded the Database product, then upgrade the applications. Otherwise, reconfigure the ODBC data sources named Servicing and ServEM to use the new server name.  Also, edit the Windows following registry value to be the new network path the to \\Servername\SvcData\rpt:
 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\INTERLINQ\Loan Servicing>SvcData

Note: the path includes the required \rpt subfolder.
  1. Edit all Event Manager saved event criteria to remove references to the old server.  For new criteria with new folder locations, grant Windows permissions to the new folders as needed.
  2. If you are creating a test system, rename the Company in the database to a test name, using the System Administration>Table Setup>Company screen.
  3. If you have other add-on applications, such as the Customer Self-Service business web application or the Fusion UltraData interfaces, reconfigure them to connect to the new server.
  4. Check for any missing custom content your institution purchased or developed, and confirm it is present and working on the new server.
  5. Backup the SQL databases, and schedule the backups daily.
  6. Reindex and update the statistics on the databases and schedule this periodically.
  7. Backup the new SvcData folder.
  8. Remove the old server SQL databases.
  9. Remove the old SvcData folder.
