Servicing Director Components Are Version Specific

The Servicing Director product components are version specific, meaning that all the components need to be of the same version to work together.

The required Servicing Director components include databases, a network shared \SvcData folder, and the desktop applications. All of these components must be of the same version. The databases and the \SvcData folder are installed or upgraded to a specific version when the Servicing Director Database Installation program is completed on the server. The desktop applications must then be installed or upgraded to the same version, completing the Servicing Director applications Installation program.

For those customers who have the optional Customer Self-Service web product, this component must also be installed or upgraded to the same version as the Servicing Director server version by completing the Customer Self-Service installation programs. Other optional products, such as optional interface products, are not version specific and will not need to be installed or upgraded to a specific version, unless noted in the documentation provided with a particular product.

Installing or upgrading to a full version always includes installation of a full server, applications, and web product (if present). The full installation will result in a new two-digit version number. For example, a new full version upgrade of 14.1 would change the version number to 14.2.

Other updates to a full version, such as a Hotfix or Service Pack, are usually version specific, intended to make only a small number of changes to a specific full version of Servicing Director. For example, a Hotfix version of 14.2.1 would be expected to be applied only to an existing 14.2 system, and the third digit in the version number would indicate it is the first change to version 14.2.
