Changing a Server IP Address
In most cases you can change your Fusion Servicing Director server IP address using Microsoft procedures for that purpose, and there should be no issues for the Servicing Director product. The Servicing Director installation instructions will have the installing person use a server name, a host name, a SQL server name or instance name when installing the parts of Servicing Director. Your Servicing Director applications will have Windows ODBC data sources set to use a name instead of an IP address. The applications will also have a server name for the network shared folder for your \SvcData folder, and for the optional Archiver shared folders.
Additionally, your users may have added Event Manager event criteria, such as to store a document in a network server location or print a document to a network printer. If so, the users should have used a network name in these criteria. If your local network then resolves these configured names used during the installation to the new IP address, then there should be no issues. If the person doing the installation chose not to use names as documented, and for some reason by their choice they used an IP address in the configuration, then you will need to change that IP address to the new address or resume using names instead of IP addresses. Likewise, if users setup Event criteria and used IP addresses in the Events, then those Events would need to be updated.
