Collection of BSA Information within EZTeller for Monetary Instruments Purchased with Cash
When you sell negotiable instruments (Cashier's Checks, Money Orders, Prepaid Cards, Traveler's Checks) for cash through EZTeller, you are prompted to complete the BSA/MIR information screen when the cash amount is between $3,000.00 and $10,000.00. On amounts over $10,000.00, you will be prompted only for CTR information.
BSA requires collection of data when selling negotiable instruments between $3,000.00 and $10,000.00. There is a setting in Superview that allows you to collect information at lesser amounts.
- Log into Superview at the Bank level.
- Go to Profile Options > EZTeller > Transactions.
- In the Monetary Instrument Recording Transaction Option section, edit the MIR Amount field to the appropriate amount.
- Click Apply and OK. Tellers will need to exit and restart EZTeller for the new settings to take effect.
Depending on your CTR Cash Consolidation Amount (CCR), you may be prompted for both BSA and CCR/CTR information.
- To verify your Cash Consolidation Amount, log into Superview at the Bank level.
- Go to CTR > CTR Main Menu > Administrative Options and click on the Reporting Levels tab.
- You will see the amounts that determine when tellers will need to complete screens for CCRs or CTRs.
When the EZTeller screens are completed appropriately, the BSA/CTR requirements will be fulfilled.
