Servicing Director Is Not Supported with SQL Replication.
The Servicing Director product has several points of failure in the desktop application, and potential failures (some hidden) in upgrading or updating when the Servicing Director SQL server has replication enabled and active on the Servicing Director databases.
Therefore, Servicing Director does not support SQL replication, and SQL replication should not be used with Servicing Director.
Any Servicing Director issues caused by using SQL replication are outside the scope of Servicing Director software support.
If you still choose to implement SQL replication and you find a replication configuration that works for your production system and application usage, then be sure to disable all replication before performing any Servicing Director upgrade or update.
Disabling all replication before performing any Servicing Director upgrade or update is important to emphasize because the failures in upgrading or updating are potentially hidden, leaving your system partially upgraded or updated and yet giving you the impression that the system is fully upgraded or updated. Resolving the partially upgraded or updated system to make it fully upgraded or updated or resolving the secondary issues caused by using the partially upgraded or updated system is outside of the scope of support.
