Testing your Web Server Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Settings
You can test your web site secure socket layer (SSL) settings using third-party tools web applications, which specialize in analyzing the SSL and secure connection properties of web servers.
The following information is for your local IT or system administrator, familiar with your Microsoft web server and networking.
The SSL settings of your Microsoft web server are a combination of your Microsoft Windows settings, your web server security certificate, your local networking, and possibly settings in your Finastra web application on your web server.
Use your Microsoft support resources and other vendor support resources for your Microsoft Windows settings and networking settings. Finastra support can help you with your web application settings.
- Open an Internet Browser.
- Open a third-party SSL settings testing web application of your choice. For example. as of this writing, some customers report using the third-party tool from Qualys at https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/.
- Enter the root web address of your web server (https://yourhostname.yourdomain.com) where prompted by the third party web application.
- Submit the web address entered for testing, and use the results to make your Microsoft Windows or networking changes as needed.
