When you have a new installation or new upgrade of the Customer Self-Service web pages, you should initially test the installation using the Customer Self-Service Test Utility.
The Test Utility is installed on each Customer Self-Service server (if you are using more than one server), and a Windows shortcut is provided to the Test Utility.
The Test Utility includes three tests: one for the Borrower Web server, one for the Investor Web server, and one for the Web Business Application server.
Each test will only return valid information on the server which has the product to be tested already installed. For example, if you run the Web Business Application server test on the Borrower Web server, then the test will fail and report a meaningless error because the test was performed on the wrong server.
To test the Web Business Application Server:
- On the Web Business Application server, click the All Programs/All Apps button and locate the shortcut to the Customer Self-Service Web Business Test Utility and click it. The Web Test Utility screen appears.
- Click Test on the upper part of Test Utility screen in the Web Application Server-Connectivity Test section. The Web Application server results appear under Test results.
To test the Borrower Web server or Investor Web server:
- On the Web server, click the All Programs/All Apps button and locate the shortcut to the Customer Self-Service Web Business Test Utility and click it. The Web Test Utility screen appears.
- Click Test on the lower part of the Test Utility screen in the Web Server - Connectivity Test section, and enter values in the following fields:
- Domain: Test (dummy value does not need to be a domain name from your network)
- User: Test (dummy value does not need to be a user name from your network)
- Password: Test (dummy value does not need to be a password from your network)
- Config file: This field will be pre-filled and should be correct by default. Edit the value, if needed, to be the path for your location of the Client.config file.
- Email Address: This is only needed for the Borrower Web server, and for the Investor Web server test. This field can be left blank. If this is the Borrower Web server test, enter an email address prepared to receive emails in your email system. This email address will be sent a test email from the Web Business Application server to demonstrate the system has emailing allowed, which is required for the Borrower Online Payments feature.
- Click Test on the lower part of the Web Test Utility screen in the Web Server - Connectivity Test section. The Web Application server results appear under Test results.
- Close the Web Test Utility screen.
- If you wish to run the Web Server test again you must close any open Test Utility screens and run Test Utility again with each test. Re-using an open Test Utility can result in an error and invalid test results.
Reviewing the results from the tests, each test will have various testing details, but the key test detail in all tests is the following:
A successful test will always include this information from your Servicing Director database::
Name1:
AddressLine1:
City:
State:
If all your test results have these key ending results, then the testing is complete with good results.
If one of your test results has different results and possibly error messages, then save the entire text of the results, noting which server was tested. Search knowledge base for an article matching your error message or context. If you do not find an article, submit a case through Case Management.
