Testing Servicing Director Customer Self-Service Electronic Statement Email
If you will be using the Customer Self-Service Electronic Statement feature, the Customer Self-Service Business Application server must be able to email from your network and email server setup. When you have a new installation or new upgrade of Customer Self-Service web pages, you should initially test the installation using the Customer Self-Service Test Utility application and confirm the email test completes successfully.
The Customer Self-Service Test Utility has two tests, one intended only for the Customer Self-Service Web server or Web Investor server and another only for the Web Business Application server.
To test Electronic Statement emailing, do the following:
- Confirm your Business Application server Web.Config file (ILSWebBusWeb.Config) is configured as described in your Customer Self-Service Installation or Upgrade guide. The Web.Config AppSettings for the SMTPServer must have the same email server name as you use for your entire Servicing Director system. The email server used by your Servicing Director system is set in the System Administration Table Setup Company Screen, SMTP Server Name field.
- Note, the electronic statements feature will send emails from the Business Application server to the e-mail server set in the Servicing Director System Administration> Table Setup > Company screen. The Test Utility will use the SMTP server name from the Web.Config, and this Web.Config value is only for testing purposes.
- On the Web server, open the Windows Start Menu, and under the Finastra applications, open the Customer Self - Service Web Test Utility. The Web Test Utility screen appears.
- On the lower part of the Web Test Utility screen, in the Web Server - Connectivity Test section, enter values in the following fields:
- Domain: Test (dummy value does not need to be a domain name from your network)
- User: Test (dummy value does not need to be a user name from your network)
- Password: Test (dummy value does not need to be a password from your network)
- Config file: This field will be pre-filled. Edit the value as needed to be the path for your location of your Client.config file if the path is incorrect.
- Email Address: Enter an email address prepared to receive emails in your email system, which you have access to and can confirm you received an email. Make this an external email address, so the email will be sent out of your network, just as a borrower email would be sent. This email address will be sent a test email.
- Click Test, on the lower part of the Web Test Utility screen, in the Web Server - Connectivity Test section. The Web server results appear under Test results.
- Confirm you received the test email, with the subject and body text of "Email from CSS Business objects on "
- Close the Web Test Utility screen.
- If you wish to run the Web Server test again, you must close any open Test Utility screen, and run it again with each Web Server test.
