Viewing and Changing the Fusion Servicing Director Reports Location (SvcData Folder)

Viewing and Changing the Fusion Servicing Director Reports Location (SvcData Folder)

Each Fusion Servicing Director workstation requires access to a shared network folder. By default, this folder is named SvcData and located on the Fusion Servicing Director SQL server. The SvcData folder stores system-wide reports and other non-database information, such as custom reports and import/export map files. You can view or change the location of the SvcData folder on each workstation as needed.

  1. Click Start > Programs > D+H > Servicing Director > Change Reports Location. On the Reports Location screen, the SvcData folder used by the workstation appears.
  2. Browse to the new folder
  3. Select the rpt subfolder. Select the Rpt subfolder when you browse to the SvcData folder.
Note:  The SvcData folder you browse to must have the expected SvcData content, must be the same version as the Servicing Director applications, and it will be tested by the application.  Also, be sure to select the Rpt subfolder when you browse to the SvcData folder. If not, this error will appear: "...does not appear to be a valid Reports folder."
  4. Click OK.
  5. The Fusion Servicing Director applications on the workstation are automatically updated to use the new SvcData folder, including all the content in the root folder and other subfolders along with the Rpt subfolder.
Note: Your network may block the Change Reports Location application from browsing your network. If so, your local IT can manually change the location using the Windows Registry Editor as follows:

IMPORTANT! Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious, system-wide problems that may require you to re-install Windows to correct them. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use these steps at your own risk. Create a backup of the Registry before editing the registry.

The network shared folder location for the SvcData folder is located here:

Edit the String value named SvcData and enter a network shared path which includes the subfolder named rpt, as in this example:

\\Servername\SvcData\rpt
