Confirming if a Servicing Director Service Pack is Installed

Confirming if a Servicing Director Service Pack is Installed

Use the following procedures to confirm if a Servicing Director service pack is installed.

The Servicing Director service packs are small updates or fixes for Servicing Director, which may apply to the Servicing Director database server, or to the Servicing Director applications desktops, or both.

When a service pack is installed, the Servicing Director product version is not changed, and therefore it can be unclear whether the service pack is installed.
The Servicing Director applications Help > About screen in most cases is not changed.

In this case, have your system administrator or IT use the following procedures:

If the service pack applies to your Servicing Director database server, do the following:

  1. Open the Windows control panel Programs to list the programs installed on the server.
  2. Locate the Servicing Director Database Update entries on the list. These are the database server service packs.
  3. The control panel list displays the version number of the service packs on the far right.
If the database service pack made changes within your Servicing Director database, then you can also revew your datatbase update history, stored within the database. For more information about seeing your database update history, search Knowledge Center with the key words Servicing Director view database history.

Note: The database server service packs often update the Servicing Director \SvcData network shared folder files, and you can check that the new files are present in your \SvcData folder if appropriate for a given service pack. To determine where your production \SvcData folder is located, use one of the desktop computers that have the Servicing Director applications, and open the Change Reports Location application from the Windows Start Programs menu. The Change Reports Location application will show you the network location the applications are using for the \SvcData folder.

If the service pack applies to your Servicing Director applications desktop, do the following:

  1. Open the Windows control panel Programs to list the programs installed on the server.
  2. Locate the Servicing Director Application Update entries on the list. These are the application service packs.
  3. The control panel list displays the version number of the service packs on the far right.

Note: The application service pack will usually update certain applications files on the desktop, and you can check that the new files are present to confirm the Service Pack is installed. To determine where Servicing Director applications program folder is on the desktop hard drive, view the properties of one of the Servicing Director application shortcuts. The default folder location will be one of the following:

  • C:\Program Files\D+H\Servicing Director
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\D+H\Servicing Director
