Correcting a Borrower Tax ID Number if a Loan is Identified on the IRS Exceptions Report as Having a Missing or Invalid Tax ID or Social Security Number

This article explains how to correct a loan that appears on the IRS Exceptions Report because it has a borrower who is missing a tax ID or social security number or has an invalid tax ID or social security number set up in the system. This has to be corrected before a loan and borrower will be included on the IRS 1098/1099 Export.
To enter or modify a tax ID or social security number for a borrower so that it appears on the IRS 1098/1099 Export and no longer shows on the IRS Exceptions Report, you will have to make changes in two (2) places.
 
  1. Access the Customer Service application, Borrower, Tax ID screen.
  2. Verify and modify the tax ID number.

  1. Access the Customer Service application, Other, End Of Year screen.
  2. Select the current reporting year record and click Details.
  3. Go to the Reporting Info tab
  4. Verify and modify the tax ID number here.
