Correcting a Borrower Tax ID Number if a Loan is Identified on the Tax ID Number Errors Report as Having a Missing or Incorrect Tax ID Number

This article explains how to correct a loan that appears on the Tax ID Number Errors Report because it has a borrower who is missing a tax ID number or has an incorrect tax ID number set up in the system. This has to be corrected before a loan and borrower will be included on the IRS 1098/1099 Export.


To enter or modify a Tax ID number for a borrower so that it appears on the IRS 1098/1099 Export and no longer shows on the Tax ID Number Errors Report, you will have to make changes in two (2) places.

 

  1. Access the Customer Service application, Borrower, Tax ID screen.
  2. Verify and modify the tax ID number.

  1. Access the Customer Service application, Other, End Of Year screen.
  2. Select the current reporting year record and click Details.
  3. Go to the Reporting Info tab
  4. Verify and modify the tax ID number here.
