Determining If a Servicing Director 14.2 or Later Report or Letter Is from the Product Installation or Customized
Servicing Director provides many reports and letters from the product installation, and you can also customize the reports and letters.
On Servicing Director 14.2 or later, you can compare the product installation files to the Event Manager report or letter properties to see if a specific report or letter is from the product installation or customized.
Servicing Director customer support only supports the Servicing Director applications as delivered from the product installation, and therefore support has limited information to help with customized reports or letters.
- Log into the System Administration application.
- Click on the Event Manager button to open Event Manager.
- On the list of available or scheduled events, note the exact title of the report or letter event you are viewing.
- Select the Event Manager menu Events>Maintenance>Events.
- From the List of events, select the event with exactly the same title as the event you title you found above.
- On the Event Details screen, note the Executable shown. If the Executable is "Report Wrapper", then the document is a Crystal Reports document. If the Executable is "Mail Merge Wrapper", then the document is a Microsoft Word Mail Merge document.
- Click the Criteria button.
- On the Event Criteria screen, note the Report file. The Report file is the source document template file in the Servicing Director SvcDataRpt network shared folder.
- The Event Criteria screen also shows the default Page Orientation, and automatic Commenting setting for the document.
- Close these screens opened above without making any changes.
- Using Windows Explorer, browse to the Servicing Director SvcDataRpt network shared folder used by your Servicing Director applications. If you are not sure where the SvcData network shared folder is located, check with your system administrator or local IT. For more information about how to find your network path to the SvcData shared folder used by your Servicing Director applications, search Knowledge Center with the keywords "Servicing Director view SvcData".
- Locate in the SvcDataRpt folder the source document template file you noted above, and note the Windows Explorer date modified and file size of the file. If Windows Explorer does not show the date modified and file size, then you can right-click on the file name, and select Properties.
- Check with your system administrator or local IT to determine your current version of Servicing Director and also whether there are any Servicing Director service packs are installed. For more information about how to find your Servicing Director version, search Knowledge Center with the keywords "Servicing Director viewing version". For more information about how to find if you have a Servicing Director service pack installed, search Knowledge Center with the keywords "Servicing Director service pack".
- If you determine there is a service pack installed, review the Release Notes for that service pack to see if it contains any new template files for your \SvcData\Rpt folder. Many service packs make no changes to the \SvcData\Rpt folder, and if the service pack does not make changes to the \SvcData\Rpt, then you can ignore that service pack for the remainder of these procedures.
- Given your current version of Servicing Director and any service pack installed, determine the date of the release of Servicing Director and/or service pack. For example, viewing the Support Center Servicing Director solution page for the release downloads, the Servicing Director 14.2 release date is 10/23/14.
- Compare the date of your current Servicing Director version release date and/or service pack to the Windows modified date of the template file you found above. Your template file date should be before the date of the release of the Servicing Director version you have. If you have a Servicing Director service pack installed and the Release Notes do indicate changes to the \SvcData\Rpt, the same rule applies, and the template file date for only the service pack changes to the \SvcData\Rpt will be a date close to before the release of the service pack. If the template file date is newer than any release date you have, then the file may be customized.
- If you need further help with determining if a Servicing Director report or letter is from the product installation or customized, contact Finastra support using Case Management on the Customer Center website. Add the following information to the new Case Management case:
- The exact Event Manager event title.
- The Event Manager event Executable.
- The Event Manager event template file name.
- The Windows Explorer date modified for the template file in the \SvcData\Rpt.
- Upload a copy of the actual template file to the case from your \SvcData\Rpt.
