Servicing Director Event Manager Event Criteria Printer Name Changes to the Name of the Default Printer

After you successfully set up an Event Manager event with criteria that specifies a named printer on your system, the printer name changed to the default printer name unexpectedly when you ran the event.

Workaround:

This is an automatic setting in Event Manager when the named printer you originally saved in the criteria is not available, not online, or otherwise cannot be accessed by the Event Manager application.
Because the named printer is not able to be used, Event Manager switchs to using the default printer instead.
The default printer name that appears is the current Windows default printer, whichever printer that is for your current Windows system.
Work with your local IT or system administrator to diagnose why your Windows system makes the named printer unavailable, not online, or otherwise unable to be accessed by the Event Manager application.  For example, if the printer is offline, then have the printer changed to be online.
Note: Event Manager has been tested with common HP Laserjet printers, and generally works with other varieties of printers.  However, be sure to test with any non-HP printer.
