Servicing Director IRS Tax Forms Show Prior Reporting Year On Label But Form Boxes Have Current Reporting Year Values

When you view the Servicing Director IRS tax forms, such as the Annual Tax and Interest Statement, the form label has the year for the prior reporting year in big bold print, but the form boxes are filled with the current reporting year values.

The form label is part of the document template, and the IRS document templates are updated once each year at or near the end of year by the Servicing Director end of year service pack.

Having the wrong year on the form labels indicates your Servicing Director system does not have the updated IRS documents.

The most common cause for not having the updated documents is your Servicing Director reports folder has not been updated by the current Servicing Director end-of-year release or service pack.

Workaround:

Have your system administrator or IT apply the current Servicing Director end-of-year release or service pack to your system.

The end-of-year release or service pack will have an update for your Servicing Director database server, which includes the new IRS documents.

During the release or service pack installation, the installation program will prompt the installing person for the location of the reports folder. The reports folder is the folder named \RPT found in the Servicing Director \SvcData shared network folder. The installation program needs to update the \SvcData folder that your Servicing Director applications are using.

To determine the \SvcData folder your Servicing Director applications are using, use one of the desktop computers that have the Servicing Director applications, and open the Change Reports Location application from the Windows Start Programs menu. The Change Reports Location application will show you the network location the applications are using for the \SvcData folder.

Once the release or service pack is applied to your database server, your \SvcData\Rpt folder will have new IRS documents, indicated by the Windows file properties showing modified dates newer than other documents, with dates from just before the release date of the current end-of-year release or service pack.

If your system administrator or IT already installed the Servicing Director end-of-year release or service pack and updated a different \SvcData folder than the one your applications are using, you can install the service pack again to the correct folder (depending on the release or service pack, you may need to uninstall or remove the already installed release or service pack to allow Windows to install it again).
