Upgrading Windows Server for Fusion Servicing Director
Fusion Servicing Director is supported only on Microsoft Windows Server versions listed on the Servicing Director System Requirements.
- If you are not sure of your Servicing Director Windows Server version, search the Knowledge Center for the related article using the keywords Servicing Director Windows Version.

The information in this article is for your local IT or system administrator familiar with Windows and Microsoft SQL Server.
Review the following information in Knowledge Center:
- Servicing Director system requirements. Search Knowledge Center for the related article using the keywords Servicing Director System Requirements.
- Servicing Director SQL server required configuration settings. Search Knowledge Center for the related article using the keywords Servicing Director SQL Settings.
- Servicing Director backups. Search Knowledge Center for the related article using the keywords Servicing Director Backups.
Prepare for upgrading the Server:
- Complete any significant Servicing Director business transactions, such as the end of month or monthly billing statements.
- Have all users exit Servicing Director.
- Review your configuration for any optional interfaces or add-on software that may need to change if you change your Servicing Director SQL server.
- Back up your Servicing Director databases.
Upgrade to Windows to a supported version using one of the following:
- Move to another Windows server with a newer version of Windows Server:
- The other Windows server will need to meet the Servicing Director system requirements.
- Microsoft SQL Server will need to be installed using the documented Servicing Director SQL Server required configuration settings.

- Upgrade Windows Server in place:
- With some older Windows versions, with SQL Server, and Servicing Director already installed, you may be able to upgrade Windows server in place, keeping the Servicing Director product in place and online.

- No other Servicing Director product changes are required.
- Configure your backup tools to back up the databases on the upgraded server.
