Upgrading Servicing Director Customer Self-Service More Than One Version at a Time

The best practice is to upgrade to Servicing Director and the optional Customer Self-Service (CSS) to each new release in the order of their release.

However, if necessary, Customer Self-Service can be upgraded more than one version at a time to match your version of Servicing Director, as described below.

As described in the Customer Self-Service Upgrade Guide, the Customer Self-Service upgrade is more of a backup custom files, then remove and replace procedure.  The remove and replace part of the procedure means you can skip versions when upgrading if you find it necessary.  For example, if you have Customer Self-Service 15.3, it can be directly upgraded in this way to 16.3.

The Upgrade Guide describes backing up your custom web files, then add these key steps to the Upgrade Guide steps as a precaution if you are skipping versions:
  1. Before upgrading on the Business Application server (ILSWebBus), remove the "Servicing Director Customer Self-Service Web Business" product (the Business Application web application) using the Windows Programs list Control Panel.
  2. Delete the local directory for the Business Application web application (ILSWebBus).  By default, this would be the C:\inetpub\wwwroot\ILSWebBus directory.
Note:  The key requirement is the Customer Self-Service version must match the version of the Servicing Director Database you are using.

Please refer to the Customer Self-Service Upgrade Guide for more information.
