Closed Branch Edits to EZTeller
When a branch is closed, you want to retain historical information but do not want additional transactions done under the closed branch.
Environment:
EZTeller Enterprise
Workaround:
On the last day the branch will be open:
- After tellers have counted their cash, each teller sells the amount of their cash drawers to the vault role.
- Tellers recount the cash and balance out with zero cash.
Note: The last saved cash count is used by the Cash Denominations Report. For the Cash Denomination Report to reflect the correct balance, EZTeller Roles should zero cash total.
- Someone needs to log on to unused roles and sell that cash to the vault role.
- Save cash count with zero cash for the unused roles.
- After the vault role has processed all transactions, do a Shipment Out transaction for the balance of cash in the vault.
- Balance the vault with zero cash.
In Superview:
- Select that branch as your working group.
- Under EZTeller Roles > Maintenance, un-assign employees from all roles at the closed branch.
- Highlight each role and click Select Employee.
- At bottom of screen, click Select All and click Remove.
- Under Bank > Workstation Setup, remove workstations at the closed branch.
- Under the structural hierarchy, click the plus sign (+) in front of the bank and branch to view the list of workstations.
- Highlight each workstation, then click Remove.
- We are required to keep one workstation at each location.
- Edit that workstation so the Workstation Type is Administrator.
- Under Bank > Structural Hierarchy, locate the closed branch.
- Highlight the branch and click Edit.
- Define the branch name to identify as Closed. ( Valley--Closed)
To recap:
- The teller cash drawers and the vault have zero cash.
- Cash Validation tickets were processed and the cash GL accounts are zero.
- No employees have assigned roles at the closed branch preventing the possibility of accidentally logging in to EZTeller.
- Administrative roles at other branches can log in to Superview, change their working group to the closed branch and view historical data.
- The branch is retained in the structural hierarchy and the teller roles historical data can be viewed.
